Since this blog is ‘dedicated’ to exploring the East and the West cross-cultural phenomenon, I figured that it would be nice to present it in a diagrammatic format to switch things up a little. Below is a series of illustrations which highlight the different methods that the Easterners and the Westerners use when approaching the same concept. Theoretically speaking, these diagrams capture the cultural differences between China and Germany per se, since the artist, Yang Liu, was born and lived in China before moving to Germany at fourteen. However, I personally think that these differences also apply to the broader Eastern and Western contexts to a certain degree. In fact, I find the comparisons to be spot on for the most part.
